Art that is a part of Life

Since the day my life began, it has been connected with art. The reason for this is my family. In my small family, there are people who engage in dance, music, and art. Like a small bird’s nest, my family lives with unity and togetherness in our daily lives. I also love this togetherness, and when I feel mentally free, I am most drawn to music. It brings a deep emotional feeling to my heart, as I listen to the beauty of music through the seven notes.💖

In addition, I show interest in dance, art, carving, physical fitness training, and sports activities. Therefore, my life has become a beautiful harmony closely connected with art.💚

The first step of my dancing life

The first step of my dancing life was performing in the Kandyan Costume Wedding. It held on 08th March 2020 in my village temple. I was very excited because it was my first experience on stage wearing the traditional Kandyan costume. The costume was colorful and beautiful, with intricate designs that reflected our rich culture. I practiced a lot before the performance, learning every step carefully. My teachers guided me, and my friends encouraged me to do my best.

On the day of the performance, I felt a mix of nervousness and happiness. When the music started, I forgot all my fear and enjoyed dancing gracefully. The audience clapped and cheered, which gave me great confidence. That moment made me realize how much I love dancing and inspired me to learn more styles.

My relative came to see my skills and performance. Even though I was sick that day, I didn't think about it and tried my best to show off my dancing skills to the audience. The Kandyan Costume Wedding performance became the foundation of my dancing journey, and I will always remember it as the first step of my life in dance.

Last day of my school life

School life, which began as I entered for higher education, became the most beautiful period of my life. While successfully engaging in my studies, I built many new friendships and spent time with them in a friendly manner. During my school years, I gathered many unique experiences. At the same time, I dreamed of entering the University of the Visual and Performing Arts, known as the home of arts, while studying in the arts stream. Thus, school life became a wonderful place where I gained some of the most precious experiences of my life.

Like a paradise of birds, my school life eventually came to an end as I sat for my Advanced Level examination for the last time, hoping to be selected for university. On that final day, I spent time chatting warmly with my friends, taking photographs with mixed feelings of sadness, and wishing good luck to those sitting for other subject streams. Carrying countless memories with me, and with the feeling that I would never return again in my school uniform, I added the final day of my school life to my journey of life.

Kataragama Perahera

Kataragama Perahera is one of the most colorful and sacred festivals in Sri Lanka. It is held annually in the town of Kataragama, which is a holy place for Buddhists, Hindus, and Muslims. This grand procession is dedicated to God Kataragama, also known as Skanda.

The Perahera usually takes place in July or August and continues for several days. It includes traditional dancers, drummers, fire performers, and beautifully decorated elephants. The rhythmic sounds of drums and the graceful movements of dancers create a magical atmosphere. Many devotees walk long distances to attend this festival and receive blessings.

I participated in this Perahera continuously for five years. It was a unique experience in my life. After staying vegetarian for several weeks and practicing day and night without rest, we feel an amazing happiness when we dance in the procession.

In conclusion, Kataragama Perahera is not only a religious festival but also a celebration of Sri Lankan culture and unity. It is a wonderful event that attracts both local and foreign visitors every year.

The beauitiful place in Rathnapura district

Saman Devalaya is one of the most sacred and historical places in Sri Lanka. It is located in the beautiful city of Ratnapura, which is well known as the “City of Gems.” This temple is dedicated to God Saman, who is believed to be a guardian deity of the island and a protector of Buddhism. Saman Devalaya has a long history that goes back many centuries. According to legends, God Saman helped spread Buddhism in Sri Lanka and protected the people. Many devotees visit this holy place every day to worship, offer flowers, and seek blessings for their lives. The peaceful environment of the temple brings calmness to the minds of visitors.

One of the most important events held at Saman Devalaya is the annual “Perahera.” This colorful procession includes traditional dancers, drummers, and beautifully decorated elephants. It attracts a large number of people from different parts of the country. The Perahera shows the rich cultural heritage and traditions of Sri Lanka.

The architecture of Saman Devalaya is also very attractive. The temple buildings are designed in a traditional Kandyan style, and the surroundings are filled with natural beauty. The nearby river and greenery make the place even more pleasant.

In conclusion, Saman Devalaya is not only a religious place but also a symbol of Sri Lankan culture and history. It is a must-visit place for anyone who wishes to experience spirituality and tradition.

My pet is a dog, and he is one of the most special parts of my life. His name is Rubi, and he is very playful and friendly.
He is a Rottweiler breed dog. He has black and brown, happy eyes. Every morning, he wags his tail when he sees me, and that makes me smile.

Rubi loves to run in the garden and play with his ball. He is very loyal and always stays close to our family. Whenever I feel sad, he sits beside me as if he understands my feelings. He also protects our house by barking when strangers come near.

I take care of him by giving him food, clean water, and regular baths. My dog is not just a pet he is a loving member of our family.

Ranjan Ramanayake has acted in many films, and most of them are full of action, emotion, and meaningful messages. His acting style is very natural, and he always brings life to the characters he plays. When I watch his movies, I feel excited and inspired at the same time. He is not only an entertainer but also a person who cares about society. In my opinion, Ranjan Ramanayake is a great role model for young people like me. He teaches us to be confident, honest, and fearless. I enjoy watching his films and learning from his life.

That is why Ranjan Ramanayake is my favourite actor.

All Island School Dancing competition in Sri Lanka

The All Island Dancing Competition was a dream in my life. Not everyone gets the opportunity to participate in it. First, there are divisional competitions, then zonal competitions, followed by provincial competitions, and finally the All Island competition. To reach that level, a lot of dedication and sacrifice are needed. For a school student who takes part in extracurricular activities, one of their biggest dreams is to participate in the All Island competitions.

I participated in this competition under the Low Country dance category. There were 20 students in our group. The dance teachers in charge at our school dedicated themselves immensely to training us for the performance. As a result of their great commitment, we were able to achieve third place in that category.

My favourite place to go

My favorite place to go is Sri Pada. It is one of the most beautiful and peaceful places in Sri Lanka. Sri Pada is also known as Adam’s Peak. Many people visit this mountain every year, especially during the pilgrimage season.

I like Sri Pada because of its natural beauty. The journey to the top is long, but it is very exciting. There are many steps to climb, and along the way we can see trees, rivers, and fresh air. When I climb with my family or friends, I feel happy and strong.

The best moment is when we reach the top and see the sunrise. The view is amazing and unforgettable. People also respect this place because it is holy. Visiting Sri Pada gives me peace, happiness, and beautiful memories.
